GFWC Kentucky 2014-2016 Program "APPLAUSE FOR MAIN STREET"

President Susan Alexander has introduced a new community development program. Applause for Main Street. It is an entirely different program from the usual Women's club programs. This program requires your club to do something physical for your community. Hummm, what does that mean? Well, it means create something lasting that will improve your communities quality of life and it's economic development. This can be an ongoing project, and you can apply for an award on your progress.

So ladies, lets think of what we can do as a club, lets use our existing fields of interest to improve our community. If you have an idea please post it in the comments section below. Then lets call a few members and if we can accomplish your idea.  To help get your creativity flowing here are a few ideas that Susan shared with us.

1. Plant a pot of flowers downtown in a place that needs it.
2. Start a House and Garden tour or a holiday festival. (i like this one)
3. Paint a door that needs painting.
4. plant a community garden for the needy in the community.
5. Create a cookbook. (i like this one)

Lets come up with some great ideas and put them to work and make our community a better place to live and work.

Have a great Sunday ladies...
