CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA's focus is to help and advocate on-behalf of the abused and neglected children that are in the court system. Their goal is to seek safe, permanent families for the children in the court system as quickly as possible.
CASA is a private non-profit organization. They recruit, train, and support court approved community volunteers to advocate for the children in the court system. All of the CASA volunteers are appointed by judges. CASA volunteers usually handle just one case at a time, and they commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home.
Let me introduce you to the staff of the CASA of Bullitt County.
